Title: Collector Passed Away - Bikes For Sale
Post by: stikman on October 22, 2014, 12:13:52 AM
A fellow who's family I know just passed away.  Apparently he had a pretty extensive collection of pre-1985 Hondas and Yamahas, many with collector's status.  I am in talks with his son-in-law and said I would spread the word as they are going to be liquidating it.  Post here if there are any bikes in particular that you are looking for and I will see if there were any in his collection.  Hopefully I can give updates as I get more info.

So far I have heard there's a mint Yamaha XJ650T Seca Turbo.

I am considering getting another dependable collector bike, is this local?  If so could I have a look at what they have?  How are the prices, are they priced to sell or holding out for top dollar on them?  What are they asking for the turbo seca for as an example.

It's in Smithers, so definitely not local.  Still no prices yet, but I'll try to keep you posted.

Smithers is local for me, who died that had these bikes and who is his son in law? I would be close enough to look at and get photos of bikes if people are interested.

Apparently there are a few CM400's, one XS650 which is partly in pieces but all there, and several other XS's.

I'm told there are alot of parts bikes and prices will be fair.  Sounds like most of the restored bikes will be kept in the family.

Their plans are to move all the bikes into one location as he had a couple large shops and a barn.  I should be hearing more over the next few weeks as they work on this.

Sr.X, I'll ask them if they would be alright with you coming by.

Any new info on these bikes, I think I figured out who it is and I have a bike in my shop right now that I just took for a rip up the ally a few times that came from this family years ago. Would really like to help with dispersal of these bikes, might even want some for myself.
Later, Bob

His name was Wolfgang.  I had offered to help and did what I could.  Tried to contact them a few times but got stonewalled.  Meh
