this thread is a little slow in coming... 1988 Concours 1000, dual front disc, should be great brakes.
Problem---when applying hard front braking, the bike would slow and then pressure would force my brake hand to open... found water in calipers...cleaned calipers and displaced fluid.
second problem---hard chattering when brakes heat...found difference in disc thickness between solid areas and drilled areas....sanded off drilled areas.
now i have great brakes.

Or you could use my philospy; crappy brakes are fine if you ride like an old lady.
