Title: 1980 XS1100 for $400 and Transport!
Post by: stikman on June 23, 2014, 05:59:29 PM
Hey guys, I just spoke with this guy in Edmonton as I'm looking for a CM250 for the wife.

He's selling those two bikes for his son who is working in Saskatoon now and bought a Harley.  He had bought the XS1100 last spring to replace the CM250 as he's a big guy.  It came with a wiring issue.  The PO had started to tear into the wiring up at the fairing and it was too complicated for him... so he bought a Harley.  The front brake line has been disconnected for whatever reason, so may need a caliper rebuild, worst case scenario.  The PO had been riding it until the wiring issue so it sounds like the motor is solid enough.

Anyhow, if someone is interested in that XS1100 and is able to help me figure out transport for the bikes, let me know and I'll be happy to split the cost of the bikes.  He said he'd sell them to me for $800 for the pair, so you'd be paying $400 for the XS.  The price is right.  If you have any specific questions about the bike just pipe up and I can ask him.

The CM250 is going to need tires, battery and some aesthetic work, but he rode it last year.  Worth it for me for $400.  Or he'll sell me just the CM250 alone for $500.  I'd rather share the transport though.

Biggest thing is figuring out transport.

Let me know.  Cheers!

No takers?  I'll give it til the weekend is over then I might consider just making a deal on my own.

Id like to but another bike in the shop would probably spell divorce for me right now.

I already have an xs1100 project.  Been taking up shop space for several years.  Don't need another.  Same divorce threat as Q-Ball.

Peace & Grease, Dennis
