hey guys im about to move the battery under the motor where the hbox was, what are your ideas about putting the electrical in the box aswell to hide it? starter solenoid , electrical connections...
evry thing but the reg/rectifier, ill keep that out just for air flow.
any thoughts?

Got a picture?
If there is something out there on the web you've seen that's similar to what you want to do, post a link. Best way to focus design ideas.

I just moved this over from Dave's CM400 bobber thread - looks like a robust and adaptable battery box, and if it has a roof or cover it would meet the needs of service where an exhaust crossover once sat... and the extra electrical parts could be arranged under/around it.
Definitely function over beauty. I went for the quick fix and just bent a length of bar into a U shape, drilled a hole in the top, cut the head from a bolt and welded it into the hole. The tab that holds the battery in on the short edge is slotted so when loosened it can slide out and give room for the battery to come out. Before it goes into the frame it needs a few tabs put on for the fender to bolt to.

My friend Kyle wanted to learn how to weld so he did some small stuff on the bottom.

I am not crazy familiar with the room under the CX engine but from working with my CM there is room under the tank for a surprising amount of stuff.

theres tons of room, on the cx theres a huge h-pipe that gives back pressure for the cv carbs but now that ive gotten rid of it theres lots of room for a battery to clean things up under the seat, the question was more for the electrical and how it will do under there? i live in the okanagan and am a fair weather rider but with all the water coming from the front tire was wondering about the solenoid and some random connections being in the mist.
