I've always used Mike Hyland .... the ex club member who has a small shop on the Hart.  I have been happy, but the jobs I have requested have been extremely easy, and I actually requested that he do less than he wanted to do.

Donovan had Mike do his Goldwing seat, but that was quite awhile ago.

When I did speak with Mike last though, he indicated that he was wanting to wind down the upholstery work because he was working close to full time (he supposedly retired years ago) driving bus.

I will follow this thread since I'd like to hear what other people know.  We've got a sequestered paint dude (Stuntman Fubar) and machinist (Jeff).  Now we need a "go to" upholsterer.

Peace, Grease, Foam & Vinyl, Dennis

Mark Jantz and his wife have a shop on Lattman rd (Haldi area) they do some nice work on custom auto upholstery, might try them (964-8421)
i have had 2 nice seat jobs done in the past here but one fellow is deceased, the other retired and in Vernon.....
Have found with upholsterers, you need to be explicit in the instruction to limit their "take" on what you want.( a picture of similar or drawing helps)

Thanks fellas, sounds like Mike hyland might not be available anymore according to Dennis so I will probably try this Mark fellow when I'm ready. I'm going to bite the bullet and cut and loop the rear of my frame and then build my seat frame to that and new rear fender fab ::). That new bike feeling is gone now so feel good about modifying it.

Wow.  I chop everything that sleeps too long in my shop.  But I only have old junk.  I admire a man willing to cut up a perfectly good motorcycle for the sake of his art.  Kuddos Stuntman.  Let the sparks begin ...

Wow, you're brave.  One of the reasons I never own a new (or close to new) motorcycle is because I know I will always end up chopping them.

The shortened rear looks great.  What is your influence for this? Brat style? Flat tracker?

Peace & Grease, Dennis

Sorry it took me so long to weigh in on this. Last I talked to Mike he was no longer doing big jobs, like restraunts, bars, boats and custom cars. He is still doing bike seats--Ihope at least 'cause Zara's needs help. Much like Jeff he does top notch work at better than fair prices. Try him at 962-8318. Think it's his number. CHEERS.

Very cool, I am with Dennis on this one! Ultra points for chopping a newer bike. I still have a hard time cutting up an old rusty honda. Love the look.
