Title: Why would.......
Post by: Hans on September 11, 2013, 10:22:24 PM
on my FZ1, I've put about 3000km on it this summer and have not adjusted the chain once, lubed it reasonably regularly.  Notice today that it was tighter than hell, started to hear it hum.  How the heck does a chain get tighter over the summer.....

Driving over a couple of good potholes or other obstacles where the back wheel hits with a bit of force would jam the wheel assembly back and possibly cause it to reduce the slack. Maybe two or three of those hits would be enough?

the chain will get tight when not lubed well enough. if the inner roller surfaces become dry from sitting it will cause this.. not sure on the cure.. maybe soak chain in oil(remove first..lol)???? have had this happen and got to buy a new chain.
