1983 Honda V45 Magna. Same year as my shadow and very similar looking. Buddy of mine had one years ago. I recall riding it once. I remember it was quick.... at that time I thought so anyway. Think his price is a little high but probably closer to the value of my trailer. Was hoping to get something different from my sadow (appearance wise) but can always trade or modify to bobber. Thoughts on the V45 anybody ? Big differences between twin and v4? Ever owned one? Like or dislike reasons?
Dude says he would give me all parts he has from a parts bike he stripped including a motor.

Quicker and faster than your shadow, also a bit heavier. That one looks like someone's baby. When the wife is ready to move up she can take over the Shadow. CHEERS.

i just bought one with 22,000 km, needs tail pipes, needed a cam chain tensioner spring, but now its running nice. That seems overpriced, I payed $900.
Just a comparison, maybe you can jump on that and ride.

Take a good look Ben, someone put a lot of time in on this one. He is probably selling it for half of what he has in it, not including time. I would not call it a good deal but think it is a fair price for a bike that needs nothing. What time tomorrow were you thinking of picking up your new jun--err.. treasures? CHEERS.

sometime between 6:30-7:00 I hope, does that work

Thanks guys. Got some good info from the guys tonight at ride as well. Think I may move on this and see if i can get the guy to meet me 1/2 way as it is in Vernon. Thanks again.

My latest strategy has been to tell my wife that each new/old motorcycle I acquire, I acquired for her. She now has a BMW and Kawasaki.

V45's are quick bikes. If the motor is good, (I'd do a compression check if at all possible) and if it needs nothing to get a collector plate....his price is not out of line... and of course most people expect a bit of haggling if they do not say 'Firm' on the price. My 2 cents.

This post got me looking...just for fun...found this and of course I am biased...My bike has been a sollid performer, I love it. This one for sale should be ready for a collector plate. If it can be had for $2500. I figure it would be a good buy. It should be a bit faster than that V45. I am not sure why they say 18,000 miles...Canadain bikes do use KM.

No he requested a few more pictures and such that I sent him but when we discussed meeting up and he never returned my emails so gave up and left it up to him. I am in no hurry to get rid of it sell or trade going to get another bike out of it.

Can an old horse trailer be turned into a nice black totally enclosed motorcycle trailer??
Shep

For sure if someone wanted to put the time in to mods, sandblast and paint. That be the trailer to do it on though because the running gear is solid. Story goes ...I bought it for my daughter to take her horses to gymkanna I paid 700-900 bucks I cant quite remember. Had a little buyers remorse after I took a closer look underneath ! But i cant have my wife and daughter breaking down with horses so i ended up replacing most of suspension parts and re-installed electric brakes back in it brand new rubber and so on......so another 1500....and the rest of story is..... then we end up boarding the horses two blocks away from gymkanna and no need for horse trailer..... it probably has 100 kms on the tires. Rear doors are rusty Accurate Guage quoted me 500 for a new set. Other than that its pretty solid My mistake but ill get some money or something of value for it eventually I am in no rush !

when I read about the wife issues and motorcycles it brings to mind a scene from about 20 years back when I used to live in Ladner. I was working in the front yard and had a good view of the community sports fields and parking lot.
I noticed a fellow hustling his butt across the field and aiming for the nice old sportster sitting in the lot. He flipped on his helmet and jumped on the bike and started kicking, and kicking and kicking it over without success.
Then I noticed a gal hightailing it across the field towards the bike guy and as she closed the gap he started kicking the bike faster and with a lot more resolve but still no success.
This well built redhead finally reached the guy and I'll be damned if she didn't start wailing on him with her helmet. She was landing some impressive blows! I couldn't hear much but I could catch snippets of it and it sounded like it had something to do with infidelity and a best friend.
I felt sorry for the guy 'cause he was going to wake up with a lot of circular welts from her helmet but the thing that struck me was the appropriateness of the whole scene for a Honda commercial tailored after the real estate ads that say "If you lived here you'd be home by now" and changed to say "If you owned a Honda you'd be out of harms way by now" or something like that.
