So parker showed up at my house today on his bike....bugger. makes me wanna ride more now. Then I'm on my way to Wayne's to drop carbs off for a test and I see Hans out riding his bike. Riding season is almost here ...wooohooo

Heard a bike out about 1:00 today across the river (on Miworth rd). Wondered if it was Parker out for a spin.
-
probably was him, cause it was about that time when he called and said he was heading over.

I bought my insurance today, and I went for my first ride. I wrote about my efforts to get the KZ650 on the road in my blog: gloryroadgarage.wordpress.com. I am so excited to ride tomorrow.

If I could figure out a way to get my bike from the backyard to the front....oh well, thinking maybe tomorrow she can get fired up after I go through Jeremy's carbs. CHEERS.

I've had the 400T insured for a few days. Went for a few short blasts. Weather is awesome and the sweeper is getting the sand off the streets here in the 'hoof. Now if I can find time to ride a bit this weekend...
-
Hoping you found your box of goodies Jij. In the carport by the door on the chair. Floats were right side up, just a little cleaning and a few adjustments. Held 8 pds. for 10 minutes so should be good to go. Happy riding! CHEERS.

Ahhhh come home tonight and I see the carbs... sweet... thanks Wayne hope it wasn't too much trouble testing them. Glad to know they hold up to the test. Merci beaucoup! I hope I can get all the little things I gotta do done Monday then I can ride again wooohoooo

I love this time of year!! except for the sand on the roads!!!! yeah fj1200 that was me blowing the cobwebs outa the 650 kaw, and me too !! Might do it again today. I managed to get my driveway down to gravel ( well almost) . So getting to the road is not a problem. The road out to Miworth is in good shape, save for a bit of sand in the corners still. but there is a clean line through them. Just a bit of run off at Colombia Bitulithic, but other wise a good ride.

OK all you early birds just watch out for the Gravel on the roads and remember the city probably wont clean the roads till June because of the heavy snowfall this year and the budget just ran out - again.

The roads are great :)
Got insured and set with my new helmet from Germany...I love it, but the downfalls of this helmet are going to pose an issue during the spring.
All of the reviews said it was a loud helmet...I thought what the hell who cares my punk and metal tunes in my headphones will drown out loudness...but low and behold there is another issue! The dust intake through the vents is CRAZY! Think I will need to glue on dust blockers :)
The highways are great. I thought there was no way I would be on the road earlier this year than last year. I was dead wrong! 6 days ahead of last year! YAY!

Went out to the shed yesterday, turned the key pulled the choke and hit the button-boom! Fired right up. Now this damn snow... CHEERS.

I got insurance on Saturday, spent most of Sunday cleaning carbs and petcock, just so I could take my wife and daughter out for a picnic with the Chang Jiang. We drove around trying to find a dry picnic table somewhere, and ended up choosing the parking lot at UNBC. This picture was taken by my daughter.

You're are not the only one who is seeing people riding. I had an officer notice I was riding as well today.
While riding back from work today on my cafe I had a police car pull in behind me and follow me a from near the CN center, up 15th and all the way down tabor to 5th. The light at 5th and tabor was red so the cop pulled up beside me to turn. He stopped and looked at me then drove into the intersection a bit then put the car in reverse and backed up so we were side by side again. Rolled down his window and got my attention.
officer"those look like straight pipes to me"
my internal voice was telling me to congratulate him on his great eye sight and keen understanding of a straight line but my better side got a hold me
I yelled through my helmet and over the earth shaking, ear drum rupturing, clearly deafening purr/hum of my 400CC parallel twin tamed and occasionally missing engine.
Lucky for me my header painted didn't cure where I put in baffles so I had the rust to prove that my bike did have baffling.
He drove of and told me to ride safe.

that's where we are entirely different... cause I would have said that... and a few other choice words. If he seriously had nothing better to do than to do something stupid like that... i would have had a hay day with him.

Being a bit of a smart-ass I probably would have said something like "actually I think their bi-sexual" CHEERS.

Now that is a line I wish I had come up with. However, after being a bit of a smart ass with a US border official, I am all "yes sir, no sir" now.

Rode from kitimat to terrace last weekend to have dinner with peg and john. Nice to be out of camp for a day and of course great to be on two wheels.:-)
