Title: forgot to ask tonight
Post by: thejij on February 05, 2013, 11:43:05 PM
Who does tank work and paint? My tank needs to be fixed up and painted...not sure of anyone that does that.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jer

Dave Litke (Super Dave) does paint.  Not cheap cheap, but good.  Depending on the amount of fixing needed, many folks here can direct you.  Dennis and Russ spring to mind.

Yeah, I like Dave.  He is very fair and does honourable work.  When the paint job on my Honda Rebel Bobber bubbled after I sold it, Dave re-did it for the new owner.  That is very honourable.

He did a great job on my GS650 mono shock.

I believe there are pictures of his work in the "painting" section.

Peace & paint, Dennis

Ah ha! brought you out of the woodwork--knew you must be lurking around some where. I need you to re-paint my beloved Zara. Send me a p.m. and let me know when a good time is. Need to go to Hans' and procure a new front fender. CHEERS.

Jij now would be the best time to do your side panels as well. Make them match, change the color, add the fenders... you get the idea. Do it the way you want the first time, then you won't have to do it again. Dave does awesome work for a fair price. Butter her up with dinner and a movie before you lie about how much you spent! CHEERS.

So.. this is what it would like black.... and what its suppose to look like stock. Ie: I would do the tank and side panels black.. but leave the fenders.

Thoughts???? ideas????

I always like the 60's biker term "the Man".

Years ago when I was a detailer at Northland Chrysler we had the service contract for the R.C.M.P. To keep them happy we installed cheap stereos and gave them a courtesy clean in and out. I have first hand knowledge as to why they were called "pigs" Messy cars! Did find a few interesting things shoved into the backseats sometimes though--only time I tried Thai stick. Oh yeah, once I backed a Diplomat cruiser into a Mercedes taking it outside.  The Diplomats were dogs but the Impalas would lay 40 feet of rubber.....or so I "heard". CHEERS.
