Title: Motorcycle Awareness Meeting
Post by: Dennis on January 16, 2013, 01:22:07 PM
I received the following email from Bruce Barry.

Hello Everyone:

It's that time of year again to start planning for motorcycle awareness for 2013 and other motorcycle events in the PG area. All motorcycle groups are welcome!  I have booked a meeting room at the Fortune Palace for 6PM, Tuesday, Janurary 22th for our first meeting of the year and they are expecting 14 of us for dinner. It will be held in the ROOM TO THE RIGHT as you go through the main doors.

Any new ideas for motorcycle awareness are welcome. Please bring a list of any MC events you would like to see on the Ride Card for 2013.  If you can, please show up for the dinner at 6PM to help justify us having a free room. The following is our meeting agenda.

I can/will attend.
I need to be prepped so I can contribute worthwhile information for the five minutes that is allocated to our club.
A second biker from our club would be welcome. Perhaps a younger bigger speciman as I have not been involved in a biker club summit and might be intimidated by any rebel bikers.

Don't worry Shep.  They're all a bunch of fat old men who just happen to like motorcycles ... just like us.  Except Bruce who is tall and good looking.  If you are worried about it being at gang "summit," wear Kiss make up, roller skates and bring a baseball bat (blatant invitation for film buff commentary).

A united PGVMC "submission" would be good.  We may need to craft one between now and then.  The only really new stuff is that we and the British Only Club (and anyone else who may be interested in the flat track thing) would like to have a display to promote the flat tracking as a separate display from the existing clubs/groups.  This is a great idea of Bulldog's to widen the spectrum and get some more interest in this initiative.

I can't think of any event for the calendar other than we seem to push the  O'Keefe Ranch Vintage Bike Weekend within our club, and I'd like to see it on the events card. Its currently scheduled for July 6 and 7, 2013.

All right, okay I'll do it. Have been to many of these meetings and know most of the people who will be in attendance. 20 years in the motorcycle industry here will do that to you. Contrary to popular belief most "bikers" are nice. Seen the price of a new Harley!?!? Most of these people are quite affluent. Will try to catch the guys at movie night to catch them up. Stephen, the food at Fortune Palace is mediocre at best. Stick with the burger.  CHEERS.

I have a dvd copy of the Warriors if anyone would like to borrow it. Bulldog if you read this get a hold of Bruce through Claudio or the Harley shop and include your new club. Or, just show up and mess' em up. Cheers.

I knew someone would get my "gang summit" reference.

Thanks for the thought Fast1. I got a hold of Bruce about 3 weeks ago and reserved a Flat Track table and space, and same for the British club thanks again for thinking of us.

I have a board meeting at 5:00 to 6:30 and then need to get my daughter to Judo.  I may be able to attend at 7:00 but I cannot guarantee it.
