I'm in need of a passenger grab bar or rail for my 1976 Honda GL1000 anybody out there maybe have one?????
-
Mike I am needing a new one myself. If you find a source let me know. Also did you order tire for the wing? I usually go through Yamaha but if I can get better pricing that would be a bonus. The rear tire is 4.50 by 19 do you know what the metric equivalent is?

4.50 -17 is a 120/90/17, or a 130/90/17. I think Mike eventually decided he was going to buy a 130, though I don't know if he actually did. I'd get the 120, if I could find one rated for the load (many 120's are lighter-duty). There are still some tires made with the old inch sizes, though they tend to be the 3.25 3.50 and 4.00 sizes for the most part.

I've been watching Ebay for a grab rail for my 76 since last fall. If there is a nice one it will go for 100$ and up. I did miss out on a nice one that was cheaper but, I was even cheaper so didn't get it. As it turns out nice ones are very hard to come by. The one on mine is nice enough but needed the signal light bracket welded back on so it messed up the chrome around the weld. Since it is on the bottom though you don't really notice it.

Mine is OK but it has been modified by some pass owner. He took the sissy bar (might be aftermarket) and moved it back from the mounting holes and welded it so it sat back of the seat. Looks OK but I would not mind getting it replaced with something unmodified. I was thinking of taking it off and cutting the welds but not sure if that would work or would I just end up with a bunch of hacked chrome tubing.

I have a grab rail, passenger seatback rest, but I have no Idea what it's from. Chances are it won't fit...lol
