Title: New B.C. Beanie Laws
Post by: Billy Thunder on May 03, 2012, 07:21:46 PM
I read a few news articals and the open letter to Shirley Bond by Dennis - http://www.princegeorgevintagemcclub.org/forum/index.php?topic=1031.0

Does anyone know what the legal description of a beanie or scull cap is? Is my 'half helmet' a beanie? If not, is Joe LawEnforcer going to know the difference, or am I in for un-called for harrasment? Seems like an enforcement nightmare...

Helmets must have either a DOT, SNELL, or ECE designation to be legal under the new regulations.  I have no idea how this would apply to vintage helmets.

Well, my helmet has a DOT sticker on it. It came with it on the back.
PS: You can buy / cut a DOT sticker... I'm not sayin' that would be right or wrong?

The sticker on my old helmet says "Department for the Orderly Regulation of Horseless Carriages."  It may be a little dated.
